Often, it is stressful and complicated to find or choose a carer or service provider who can understand you and provide specialised care addressing all your needs. At HCCS, support programmes are established tailored to individual needs that empower participants to thrive in their unique journey towards a brighter future. Our team actively advocate for participant rights and well-being, empowering them to voice their needs and contribute meaningfully to decision-making processes.
Similarly, we promote choices and control of our participant. Our services allow our participant the freedom to focus on your interests, hobbies and activities you love the most.
Some of the reasons why participant choose HCCS.
We actively engage in advocating community awareness to create a more inclusive society. We comprise a team from diverse backgrounds. Our support services, activities and plans are designed to ensure a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
At HCCS, our participant’s cultures, beliefs and values are always respected during the provision of support. To ensure this, we craft individualized support plans, recognizing not only the unique needs and goals but also their cultural aspect and preferences.
HCCS recognise that transport is a significant barrier for people with disabilities being able to achieve their goals. In Cairns, the public transport system is extremely limited, not overly accessible and at times unreliable. Alternative options are often expensive and unaffordable. Transport funding under the NDIS is also limited. HCCS understand these factors combined can inhibit and limit your ability to achieve maximum independence.
HCCS consider these barriers in the support we provide and work collaboratively with Maya Rentals who runs wheelchair access van services. Together we have a fleet of vehicles (including wheelchair accessible vehicles and vans), that support workers can utilise to meet your needs. There is no personal cost or NDIS funded cost involved to participants for the use of these, it’s a free service that can be used on an as needs basis.
The Cairns community is in a rental crisis. Cairns’ rental market has vacancy rates of less than 1%, with homelessness being at an all-time high. HCCS recognise the impacts this is having on our community and in particular people with disabilities. We endeavour to play a part in tackling this issue and lessening the impacts on our community and have established three SIL houses providing specialised housing to people with disabilities.
HCCS provide tenancy and accommodation support not only to our participants, but to other members of our community that require assistance. We have great relationships with several local real estate agents. These real estate agents have grown to trust and respect the people we refer to them. HCCS associates are often the preferred candidates for their properties as we provide additional support and assurance. In addition, HCCS offer cleaning and yard maintenance support- an added benefit for homeowners.
HCCS recognise that people with disability often struggle to attend to household cleaning and yard maintenance. We believe a clean and tidy home is not only important for physical health, it is also important for your social and psychological wellbeing. Thus, we also assist NDIS participants with a cleaning and yard maintenance service.
We have specific support workers with skills, who are particularly passionate about domestic duties and yard maintenance. These reliable workers have a specific eye for detail and are dedicated to getting the job done. If you require cleaning or yard maintenance, we can match you with one of our experienced support workers immediately. In the event, our participants are not happy with their duties, HCCS ensure that they are available again to attend the cleaning that meets participant demands.
Our commitment to quality is unwavering. We often go beyond basic care to ensure growth in participants’ overall wellbeing. We believe participant goals are our goals. In order to achieve the possible goals of our participants, we enhance our services through innovative programs and activities, promoting engagement and personal growth and provide holistic support, addressing physical, emotional, and social needs.
We do regular face to face meetings. It is to identify participants’ needs and seek their feedback. We then adapt our services to meet evolving needs, guaranteeing a high standard of care. We work closely with local authorities, district nurses and local GPs to make sure the care you receive is of the highest quality, no matter how complex your needs may be.
We respect and value the unique needs of our participants. We understand our participant needs us and our services at any time. So, no matter how prior you inform us and what situation we are in, our aim is to deliver the services when you need. At Himalayan Community Care Services, our team is available for – 24hrs/day to ensure our participant needs are met at all times.
In the event a participant wants to change their support days, we are flexible and make sure participant receives the support as requested. As we promote participant choices, if participant wish to cancel the service agreement with us, we proceed the request with in two days of notice and there will not be further charges.
We promote transparent communication. We keep individuals, their families, and support networks informed, ensuring everyone is on the same page and actively involved in decision-making.
